Fees & Charges

Late Payment Fees

  • REMC payments are due on the 17th of the month

Residential & Commercial Members

For bills received after the due date:

  • A late fee of 10% of the first $3 or less, plus 3% on the net in excess of the first $3 will be assessed
  • If any delinquent balance exists, all payments the Cooperative receives shall first be applied to the delinquency

All Other Customer Classes

  • The late fee shall be 5% of the current bill
  • The late fee does not apply if the customer’s contract for service establishes different terms

Non-Sufficient Funds & Return Items Charge

  • A charge of $35 must be paid in addition to any other charges if the Cooperative is required to reimburse the bank for a non-sufficient funds check or returned item that was received from a member in payment of a bill

Disconnect for Non-Payment

Remote Disconnects

  • If service has been disconnected remotely by the Cooperative due to non-payment, a $45 disconnection fee must be paid before service will be reconnected

Disconnect Trip Fee

  • disconnect trip fee of $75 will be made, in addition to rates for service, when an employee of the cooperative must go to a member’s premises to disconnect service due to nonpayment

Reconnect Fees

Remote Reconnect Fee

  • If a reconnection of service is made remotely for a member at the same location within a 12-month period, a $25 reconnection fee must be paid before the service will be reconnected

Reconnect Trip Fee

  • reconnect trip fee of $75 will be made, in addition to rates for service, when an employee of the cooperative must go to a member’s premises to reconnect service

Overtime Fee

  • If an employee of the cooperative is required to make a trip to the location after 3 p.m. CT, Monday through Friday, or when the headquarters is closed, an overtime fee of $150 must be paid before service will be reconnected
