Jasper County REMC today announced Violet Sistovaris will serve as its interim CEO beginning Wednesday, Dec. 3. Former CEO and General Manager Jon Rich retired Dec. 1.
Sistovaris spent 28 years as a utility industry executive with NiSource. She joined the company in 1994 and served in several leadership roles before serving as president of Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO), a NiSource electric and natural gas utility company, from 2015-2020. She retired from NiSource in 2022 as the company’s executive vice president and chief experience officer.
“Violet is a proven leader with a unique blend of strategic, implementation, and operations experience, while placing a deep value on the employee and customer experience,” said Bart Nesius, Jasper County REMC Board President. “We look forward to Violet bringing her leadership and experience to our team, while our members will continue to receive reliable electric service as the cooperative continues its fiber infrastructure construction and service connections.”
The Jasper County REMC board of directors will conduct a national search for its next leader to guide the organization’s future, advance strategic goals, and ensure the electric cooperative continues to meet the evolving needs of the community.
