Electrical Safety

Jasper County REMC emphasizes electrical safety at every education level.

  • Some of our programs include:
    • HeadStart basic education
    • Classroom demonstrations
    • Emergency Responder full-size hotline demonstrations
  • Our Member Services coordinator and a lineman will present the information to any audience
  • You’re never too young, or too old, to learn what’s new in electrical safety

HeadStart Classroom

HeadStart classroom demonstrationOur HeadStart program includes:

  • Simple coloring books with characters illustrating electrical safety messages
  • The coloring books make excellent “story time” reading in the classroom
  • Dramatic discussion about climbing trees and flying kites around power lines
  • We get a lot of audience participation at this level and are able to make sure they understand the information
  • The kids see some of the tools that linemen use
  • A tour of the big line truck
  • They just might get bucket rides if they’re really good students
